PHARMACEUTICAL NAME: Herba Taraxaci. NOMENCLATURE: FAMILY: Asteraceae (dandelion family). CATEGORY: Clear heat and toxins. PROPERTIES: Bitter, cold. PLANT PART USED: All of it. The root is the strongest part of the plant. Leaves are best for diuresis due to their potassium content. TOXICITY: The LD50 in mice is 59g / kg.
